First Visit

During your initial office visit, you will notice a difference. Our philosophy is not treatment driven, but information driven.

We will perform a thorough examination and an esthetic smile analysis.  This includes x-rays when necessary, a head-and-neck soft tissue-screening exam, and an examination of your occlusion (bite), including evaluating how it harmonizes with your joints and muscles.

A complete periodontal (gum) evaluation will also be performed, along with a comprehensive individual tooth analysis. Your diet and oral hygiene techniques will be reviewed and suggestions will be made to improve these areas and hopefully decrease the need for future dental treatment.

Then after discussing your “wish list”, at no additional cost, we will schedule a separate visit, where in writing we will present options, including fees and try to find the ideal solution which satisfies your esthetic, economic and functional needs. Your options will be sequenced and explained and, can be modified as needed.

For many conditions, there can be a variety of solutions, from the most simple to the most sophisticated and elegant.  Having been given a thorough understanding, you will be able to make informed, educated decisions.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your referral slip and any x-rays if applicable.
  • A list of medications you are currently taking.
  • If you have medical or dental insurance, bring the necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT: All patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e., diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e., heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.).

X-Rays

If your dentist or physician has taken x-rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office for your consultation. If additional films are necessary, they can be taken at our facility.
